School Office Policies
The school office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The office will be locked before and after this time.
The school office should only be used for school business. Students and parents are asked not to congregate in the school office unless they have official business.
Forgotten items for a student may be left in the office. Parents will not be allowed to deliver these to the student's classroom.
SCS's copy machine is for school use only. Students are not allowed to use the copier for reports, copying notes, projects, etc without permission. A 10 cent per copy fee will be charged per page and will be added to the parents account. A student must sign a log sheet that they used the copier and how many copies they made.
All visitors must check in at the office.
Nondiscriminatory Statement
Sterling Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
Parent Statement of Cooperation
The following statement is printed on each enrollment application. Parents will be asked to affirm the statement with their signature on the application form available in the school office.
"We understand that enrollment at Sterling Christian School is not a right but a privilege, and do affirm that there are standards that must be maintained for the welfare of each student as well as for the entire school. We understand that we are agreeing that we are answering each of the application questions to the best of our knowledge and have disclosed any pre-existing condition that may be in relation to our students' academic, social, psychological, and disciplinary status with SCS or in previous schools (i.e.: IEP, medications, etc.). Therefore, if this application is accepted, we hereby give permission for our students' teachers and/or other agents of the school to make and enforce classroom regulations in a manner consistent with Christian principles of discipline as set forth in Scripture. We will continue to uphold the authority of the teachers and staff of Sterling Christian School by recognizing their right to use the disciplinary policies set forth in the SCS handbook, and we will cooperate fully in this regard.
We will acquaint ourselves with the grounds for dismissal in both academic and disciplinary circumstances outlined in the handbook, and we will cooperate fully in this regard. If we ever find that we cannot accept the disciplinary standards of SCS or if our student fails to meet the minimum academic requirements, we may withdraw our student or face possible dismissal. In the event of academic failure where no alternatives remain available, or if for disciplinary reasons, the school must expel our child, we will bring our tuition account and all other fees current to the quarter. No refunds of overpayment will be provided. We understand that the only exception is if a family moves out of the area. We understand that we have entered into a contractual relationship with SCS for the payment of tuition and fees, and that we agree to abide by the financial statement policies and those in the SCS handbook."
